The end is near, my dear ( or not? )

Yeah, I know surely, the summer is gone! With my first day of school, grey clouds and beginning of a new life. I started to think, are friendships part of that phenomenon? If you think of summer loves and summer friendships, you gain friends during the summer, when you're on a holiday and then when you leave, you still gain contact, but after a few weeks or maybe months, friendship gone! What about long term friendships, what if one leaves the country for a few months or years, what will happen with that friendship? Will they work on it? Will one became jealous of the other? Who will know, I know that to remain a friendship is hard, it is even harder then a relationship. In a relationship, if one doesn't cooperate, you can dump the other, but in a friendship, you just can't turn your back on the other, eventhough the other wants to work on it. From my experiences, you don't want to lose your best friend. I recently got involved in this situation and let me tell you my friends, it can be ugly, I spare you the details, but the main key in life is: work with it. If you have a really hard job, work with it, figure it out and show you can be the best and reign supreme! Same with friendships, figure it out, work it with, fight for it! Even when you are wrong, don't let your guard down, stand up, show that you can reign supreme and work it out. Even when all odds are against you, work for it, cry if you want, but show that you can fight! Show that the end is not near!

First day of Awesomeness

Yeah, finally after a year hard labor, I can go to school. My very first day of school, well, introduction then. Wesley and I decided to go with the car, we parked and went by subway, yeah, subway, when I think of a subway, two things come to mind, first I love a steak & cheese sub and NYC. But anyways, we went to HVA, yes, that's our school. We stepped into to the school and felled like students again, the old good days. Wesley went to his class, no, we're not in the same class, to bad but anyways, he has a fun class and so as I. My group is swell, but I didn't really socialize with other classmates, because we were devided into groups of 8-10. So another day my friends, I shall meet the others. My first year is going to be a rough, lots of school hours and lots of learning activities! So the groups did some fun activities around the school, it was swell. After that we presented to the whole class, with that the day ended. All for all, it was a swell day, lots of new people, lots of information and lots of motivation to be awesome this year!

"Not funny" , Wesley and I came up with this phrase, it basically stands for all the women that are absolutely drop dead gorgeous. Women, we dream of being with, women according to our standards. The End of an Era

As I look outside through the window and listen to Jenny Owen Youngs, I realize this is the end of the summer. Outside the raindrops are falling from the clouds and the sky is grey. The summer spirtit is all gone. Everybody is going to school or back to work and finally I am going back to school after almost a year of absent. I am so glad to go back to school, fill my brain with lots and lots of knowledge, but that's next week, for now, a week of relaxing and getting my sh*t together for the big day, the first day of school.

So, now lets review the summer, my summer, the Summer of Miguel.

First of all, my good and best friend Wendy left Holland for China, because of her internship at a lingerie company, before her emotional going-away- party we went to RAUW ft. Ebony Bones and BoyzNoize.

Before Wendy went to China, we held a going away party in Amsterdam, we had a lovely dinner and went out for a couple of drinks and the 24th of April was the day we said our goodbyes to Wendy. Wendy will be missed like enormous, I miss her pretty bad!

After that, my first concert of the summer, Alphabeat, yes I went to Alphabeat. They are pretty good live, their songs are very happy and full with joy,. The second event on my programme was, Picnic In the Park. That was glorious day! I went to that event with long time good friend Jin, we know each other a pretty long time and that day we hung together and enjoyed really good music and enjoyed the sun. The main act that i wanted to see was John Mayer, my long time musical hero! But untill that moment, we listened and watched to other acts, like: Room Eleven, Alphabeat, Donavon Frankenreiter and Rodrigo y Gabriela. They were pretty awesome and John Mayer topped that day with an awesome performance!
















Oh, I forgot! I also worked my ass off, the entire year at Ola/Ben&Jerry factory. Almost five days a week, eight hours a day, it's hard, but I needed the money for my education and to pay off my phone debt and spend on other things.

Five Days off

Yes, five days off! Five days filled with awesomeness! And I got tickets for that awesome event, so it all began Wednesday. Well, before my awesomeness began, I hooked up with my ex girlfriend, from many years ago, when I was young and restless. We talked the entire day and my friends, she has been changed to a very smart young lady! When we were young, she was very bad and stuff, but now, very smart and funny, so I am gladd, to put the past aside and begin a new friendship with her, oh, I forgot to mention her name, her name is Georgina.

So, five days off begins, with acts like, MSTRKRFT, Mr. Oizo, Cool Kids, Lupe Fiasco, JUSTICE, FEADZ, EROL ALKAN, CSS and many many more, on the first day, I enjoyed, Mstrkrft, Viva le Fete and Mr. Oizo. On the second some unknown artists but on the third day, we saw, Lupe & Cool Kids. You are wondering, whose 'we' ? Well, my five days buddy was Ryu and we had a blast! During Lupe & Cool Kids, we had reinforcements from Chantal, Ryu's nephew Romao and Boye. The day after that, Finally, JUSTICE! Yes, with Helene, my long time Friend! It's was spectacular!!! plus Feadz ( also an Ed Banger dj ) was there, he rocked the house! It was a night to remember and yes i got Pictures!

These initials stand for: Death Cab for Cutie, a concert that I have seen with good friend, Wesley! Its the third time we have seen this band, thay are totally awesome, no words can describe how awesome they are. So, yeah we enjoyed the music!

Wndy
Oh, my best friend ever, came back for almost two weeks, she had to do some visa business, but yeah, I spoke to here on the phone and we hung out, yeah, we missed each other. We hugged, we watched a movie, just like old times. She told me lots of stories about her adventures in big China Town. It was Wndy & Mig reunited!



N*E*R*D & Cassius

Finally, I have seen N*E*R*D and they were awesome, but it was pretty much crowded and everybody was jumping and stuff. Everbody knew the words of the songs, it was an awesome vibe beeing there! So you can say, the night was good and ended with Cassius. Like OMG, they rock! Awesome set, it will be a night to remember, but the trip, I would rather forget. On my way to a friend, my train hit a tractor! So I sat an hour and a half in the train and finally we were evacuated, but it was one hell of a ride. So went to Breda, because I could go to The Hague anymore because due time, so that my ride could pick me up there. After more than three hours, I finally sat in the car on the way to Belgium, thats the place where N*E*R*D played. With the hell ride and long hours on the way, I had fun and was gladd I was at N*E*R*D.

Okay fooks, this a name you should pay attention off. This talented singer/songwriter played only with a guitar in the paradiso, she was so good and I felt all festivus inside. And, Oh, there was a girl there, she was "not funny". She was so pretty and cute, when Jenny sang a song call Transmitter Failure, I felt connected to that girl, yeah, we crossed eye contact, but after the show she left. I know her name and know that she works at the Paradiso, so, do the math, I see opportunities. So she is my dream girl! So, back to Jenny, yeah she rocked the house, yeah she sang like awesome and yeah I got her autograph! AND SHE LIKES MY SHOES!!!


All for all, it was a pretty succesful summer, I had fun, I had disapointments, I had joy, I had sadness, I had sun and rain, I had ups & downs, I gained friends and missed friends, so this was the summer of 2008, this was the summer of Miguel
